Orthodontic Exposures

Impacted Canine Exposures

Orthodontic Exposures IN SARASOTA & SURROUNDING AREAS

PRE-TREATMENT

PURPOSE

An impacted tooth simply means that the tooth is "stuck" in the jaw and cannot erupt into the mouth. The canine tooth is the 2nd most common, behind a wisdom tooth, to become impacted. The periodontist and orthodontist work harmoniously to aid in the eruption process.

DURING TREATMENT

PROCEDURE DETAILS

One to two hours in length with the use of local anesthetic.

The periodontist will remove bone and gum tissue to allow for the attachment of a bracket & chain to the archwire. The orthodontist will now be able to pull the tooth into perfect alignment.

POST-TREATMENT

RECOVERY TIME

Approximately 1-2 days. Every patient differs on level of discomfort.
